OLM wins best Public Sector Tech Award in National Technology Awards

We are delighted to have won Best Public Sector project in the National Technology Awards.

Our investment in the latest technology with our Platform for Care continues to grab attention and deliver results for our customers. Our Platform for Care’s smart technology ensures a seamless omnichannel experience that puts the service user/citizen at the centre.

Our unique Platform approach links up all elements of the care sector (E.g. carers, citizens, social workers, health workers, commissioners, providers). This enables service transformation through the smart use of digital improving outcomes and productivity simultaneously.

In particular, the success of our BedFinder project in Hertfordshire caught the attention of the judging panel. The BedFinder solution is a key solution in the fight against Delayed Transfers of Care (DToC).

Our Platform improves the speed of searching for a bed vacancy, has saved hundreds of thousands of pounds and has been showcased on SKY and BBC more than once.

Most importantly, BedFinder gives independence back to citizens. In the cases where a care home is the right place for a citizen BedFinder allows Social Care and Health teams to get elderly patients where they need to be quicker. This puts citizens health and well-being first and provides choice and control.

BedFinder is also directly used by people in need of care services and their families. Users can search and see available beds quickly and easily on the public-facing area of the site. They are able to access information about the care home, search for suitable beds and read recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection reports. Service users and/or their carers can then make informed choices about their long-term or respite care.

This is a valuable service for families and people in need of care, who often worry about finding the right home. Carers save the national economy £132 billion per year, so providing them with the right support is crucial to the health and social care economy.
